Bio

Tina Hirsig earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and Fine Art from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. Desiring further training in the arts she enrolled in the diploma program at The School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts in Boston,  Massachusetts, and shortly after earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from Goddard College’s self-designed graduate program.  Hirsig’s degree combined education philosophy and interdisciplinary arts with a specific focus on methods for developing authentic “voice” in the arts.

Hirsig exhibits regularly at the local and national level capturing various honors.  As a visual art instructor, she has been selected as a speaker at the National Art Educators Association convention three times on the topic of various methods for teaching students to develop their individual voices in a choice-based art studio.  Hirsig resides in Charleston, South Carolina with her husband of 25 years, two sons, and rescued greyhound Obi.
